Miguel and his brother Eduardo grew up working in their father’s business -- manufacturing precast structures such as catch basins, manhole covers and parking bumpers used by paving contractors. As young teens attending school, Eduardo worked with his dad in the morning and attended classes in the afternoon, while Miguel took his classes in the morning and worked in the afternoon. Working hard was ingrained in them at a very young age.

As Miguel & Eduardo developed relationships with their fathers customers, they began to find themselves drawn to asphalt paving. The more they learned about the business, the more they were intrigued by it. Pretty soon Miguel found himself spending summer vacations striping, marking and signing parking lots and roadways. He and Eduardo absorbed all they could about the industry and when they felt they were ready they opened Miguel Lopez, Jr. Asphalt Maintenance in 1989.

Still working side-by-side for the past 30 years, the brothers have turned a small two-man business into a thriving, highly regarded company that is a licensed contractor in both Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, as well as having a State of Florida General Contractors license.
